The Rover

This was my first real robot - I started it in 2005 when I wanted a general purpose project to let me play with things like computer vision, wireless communications, and remote motor control. It has been an on-again off-again project since then. It is in pieces and stored in boxes at the moment. The next time I put it together I plan for it to be the vehicular base for something like VoxHead as a general telepresence robot - I will make a new video then. It is basically a homemade Segway now, but I will likely move to tank treads like Johny 5 or WALL-E in the next dev cycle for more secure movement in places like on the playa.
